Mike Balfour, the founder of world’s largest gym chain Fitness First, has reportedly left the company and will now concentrate on his holiday villa business.

According to reports, the reason why Balfour left the company was due to a continuing disagreement between him and BC Partners. His company was bought for £ 800million. There have been rumors that he was not happy with how the buyout proceeded which caused the disagreement with the shareholders.

The 60-year old entrepreneur is now concentrating on Hideaways, his holiday villa company.

Fitness First was founded in 1992 by Balfour and business partner Christopher Pearce. What started as a gym in Bournemouth became a global franchise with customers preferring affordable fitness club establishments over exclusive and more expensive clubs.

Balfour has yet to release an official statement on the matter as he’s currently on a private holiday.

An American magazine reported that “Twilight” stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have spent a romantic holiday together during a brief break from the filming of the film. The stars are believed to be a couple.

During a break from the filming of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” the couple were said to have stayed at one of the popular bed and breakfast establishment in Canada’s Mayne Island. The stars were seen wearing swimsuits with baseball caps and sunglasses during the trip, an indication that they want their rendezvous to be private and away from prying media eyes.

One of the magazine’s sources said that Pattinson always wanted to spend quiet time with Stewart but this has not been possible for the past few months. However, they got to discover the establishment in Mayne Island and went there during a break from filming.

The pair has been believed to be involved with each other but neither has confirmed that they are an item.

The discounted family holiday packages during the school year have reportedly affected the attendance of the children.

A spokesman from the Association of British Insurers (ABI) stressed that availing of holiday insurance nowadays is considered a necessity and not just a “luxury” as it was once perceived.

Taking trips abroad is a risk and it is but logical to have at least some sort of financial protection in case something unexpected happens like accidents and falling ill while on vacation outside the country.

The spokesperson stressed that there are countries outside the Europe that will certainly not recognize the European Health Insurance card that’s why it is best to start inquiring right now on how to avail of the holiday insurance before making that travel. The internet is the easiest source for information or the travel agent in the local area may provide insight as to where to go before booking the vacation.

Research revealed that one out of ten people don’t avail of the holiday insurance in their travels. More than half said that they just forgot availing of this.
