Look Scorching At The Beach

It seems like everyone knows someone who is heading for or just rushed back from a warm vacation in Mexico, Cuba, Hawaii, or the Dominican Republic. Kelli Nykoluk says that is no surprise to her. She says the busiest time of year at her Edmonton swimwear shop is between November and March.

She said that it doesn’t matter how bad the economy gets, people still find a way to take a holiday and there are a lot of good travel deals out there at this time of year.

Nykoluk, manager of Swimco, formerly Swimwear, said that at present, the fashionable are packing navy coloured suits and this is the first time, in so long, that the colour has been popular in a while.

Like blue and black suits with yellow or red are big, as are bright colours, patterns and prints.

Nykoluk explains that usually people choose brighter colours to wear on the beach when they go away because everybody else is wearing the same funky stuff. They also tend to be more daring in the styles they choose because they’re not likely to run into people who know them.

The monokini, which is one of the most daring styles and the most popular that Nykoluk has trouble keeping it in stock, basically a two-piece connected by a little strip of fabric in the middle.

The bikini has remained popular with women under 35. Much older women are wearing two pieces also but tend to choose suits with tankini tops that are more flattering.

Nykoluk says they still carry one-piece suits because some people really like them, but they have way more tankinis that one-pieces.

Bottoms in skirt designs are also in, as are ruffles around the neckline, stripes and big, bold patterns are hot, especially when they’re combo-ed, as in a printed top paired with a striped bottom or vice versa, she added.

Fashion Meets Fit

Swimwear Anywhere, a New York–based company, has built a status for fashion-forward and fit elegance across its broad wide series mix of brands.

With over 250 employees worldwide, Swimwear Anywhere is the biggest privately held swimwear company in North AmSwimsuiterica.

The company has been run by the couple Joe and Rosemarie DiLorenzo for 19 years and produces swimwear lines Roxanne, Beach House, Coco Reef, Coco Rave and Gabar as well as carrying the swimwear licenses for DKNY, Juicy Couture, Juicy Beach Baby, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, MICHAEL by Michael Kors, Carmen Marc Valvo, Tommy Hilfiger and Vince Camuto. The DiLorenzo couple are also co-founders and owners of TYR Sport in Huntington Beach, Calif.

So what are they known for? Rosemarie tries to state them all out saying that for having a confident skill, in addition to their cutting-edge trend setting and their integrity as a company and as a product, aside from the people who are here. Those things are the most significant. Furthermore, their quality on a retail level and consumer level; they have quality garments across the board. They are leaders in fit, which is Joe’s expertise, and they’ve picked it up and morphed into a mini-Joe over the years.

They also have decided to take some of the technology they have and put it into a sophisticated collection. It’s a super-fashionable garment on the outside with a shaper underneath the swimsuit, she describes further that, it’s a suit within a suit. And it is based on some of the compression and body-shaping technology that they have gotten from our sports and athletic side with TYR Sport and it makes use of a lot of things from Olympians and elite swimmers. She adds that they are combining their technology and expertise from both companies in this collection. It will make a variation in the approach that the business looks at swimwear going forward.

Tips For trips In Between Climate Extremes

Winter is the instance of the year when travellers are either looking for the ultimate mountain cabin and ski experience or scrambling to reserve the best beach resort package they can come across out there.

Gathering and packing for a smooth climate transition is no tiny deed, especially when today’s luggage fees place suitcase space at a premium rate.

So here are a few useful tips on what to just bring along with you and leave extra vacation money for on-site adventure.

First, keep in mind that everyone in the trip should stay nourished and prepared by using hot water to mix up cups of miso soup, herbal tea or even a packet of Theraflu if essential. Hot water is a standard free amenity at hotel hospitality bars, and packets of your favourite beverages and soups take up minimal suitcase space.

Tips on Health: The changing climates drastically can put you at extra risk for a case of the sniffles. Swimming pools are typically accessible in hotels at both ends of the climate range, so packing a suit is a great way to take full advantage of free amenities. You can consider bringing in a tankini swimsuit for additional fashion functionality.

For clothing: Tunic dresses worn over leggings can be enclosed with warm sweaters in colder weather, and remove them or fly solo as vacation attire when you arrive at the beach. The leggings can serve up as a base layer under lighter slacks or jeans, and fitness attire at your hotel’s gym, provided there is a laundry facility available.

For footwear: Beachy flip-flops for the warmer end of the trip pack easily for both men and women, as do a variety of soft adventure sandals. Wear heavier footwear on days you’ll be travelling to or from a warmer climate.

Instead of packing your own ski boots it is suggested for the most comfortable fit to think about it since the actual skis and poles are easily rented from the resort.

This will save luggage room for souvenirs and work-from-the-road gear like digital cameras, laptop computers, and tablet devices that you might be able to use on the vacation spot.

Save luggage space and extra checked baggage fees by renting activity equipment where possible. Similarly, bicycles and snorkeling gear are typically available for rent in warmer regions such as the Caribbean.

Itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow sequinned string bikini

20-year-old, Jessica Schollum, who missed out on the Miss Whangamata beach pageant twice before already, wasn’t taking chances this time, at all.

So she came and fashioned her lucky charm which is an itsy bitsy, teeny weeny, yellow sequinned string bikini - which she was wearing while bagging the Miss Indy New Zealand title in October, departing soon to represent New Zealand on the Gold Coast in Australia.

Schollum lives in Auckland but referred to her Whangamata roots to appeal to the judges the day before as she won over the second place winner Amelia Borley, who’s 18 and from Surrey in England, and third placer Waihi Beach’s Sarah Choat, also 18.

A hospitality student, Jessica, has been doing modelling for two years now and had also entered Miss Ralph and Miss Indy the year before without achievement, so she was pleased to ultimately be crowned Miss Whangamata.

She states that it’s good and it’s like going on adrenalin. It’s really fun to get out there on stage and show what you can do. She added.

She took about three hours of primping, fake tanning and plucking that really paid off for her, although she did admit the curls almost failed to withstand the strong wind.

Her encouraging mother and boyfriend were the ones along with the 1500 spectators gathered at Williamson’s Park to watch 119 girls aged from 4 to 20 that strutted on stage.

Richard Scelly, Whangamata Surf Life Saving Club lifetime member and event organiser, was pleased that the weather hadn’t kept the audience away from the club’s biggest fundraising event.

On the other hand, registrations were somewhat losing this time, with only seven participants entering the main category, compared with 17 last 2010.

The club raises the money for the event through sponsorship and charging a $6 registration fee for participants.Yellow Bikini worn by Jessica Schollum

New trends seen at India Fashion Week

The fashion shows that took place at the recently concluded India Fashion Week have presented new trends that are quickly seen by some of the local fashion designers which may be included soon in their fashion lines.

Industry insiders commented that the India Fashion Week was a huge success considering that there were more participants than in the previous years and the designs showed promise that the industry is still flourishing as ever, and is proving one of the strongest in Asia.

The organizers also made sure that the designs of the clothes and swimsuits were the most talked about issue during the event rather than the celebrities gracing the event. This is in a bid to push the creativity of the fashion designers and efforts made to promote green fashion as well.

Green fashion is a bid of the event in the usage of environment-friendly material in the creation of dresses. The event also served to help promote India as an exciting holiday destination, with a huge array of cultural treats and wide variety of landscapes and terrains to explore.

In the grand finale of the Fashion Week, actress Shilpa Shetty graced the event to promote one of the designs by her good friend.

Brits on UK holidays take risk of not getting travel insurance

On the period before the Christmas season, more Brits are headed for their annual UK holidays to spend quality time with their loved ones. This is admirable but there’s one aspect that is often overlooked, most of these individuals don’t avail of travel insurance whenever they go on UK holidays.

This claim was based on the new research conducted by Go compare website, stating that majority of their traveler-respondents in the survey said that they don’t avail of travel insurance whenever they go on a trip to their second homes or spending the holiday in family’s or friend’s houses during their trips.

Travelling without insurance

The results showed that vacationers are nine times more likely to travel within UK without travel insurance compared to those who availed package holidays both within the country or abroad. Travellers abroad may invest more in specific items and clothing for their holiday such as swimwear, diving equipment if they are going for a beach or diving holiday.

Respondents reasoned that they would rather spend the money on other stuff rather than on travel insurance.
