According to reports, German holiday tour operators are now charging about five to eight percent less for holidays this year in a bid to lure more customers.

Laepple added that the revenues are expected to be better than the ones earned last year.

Thomas Cook, Europe’s second biggest tour operator, stated that its German branches are planning to slash down prices for this summer by five percent. Another tour operator Rewe aims for six percent price cuts.

Holiday park developer defends move to add 90 caravans

The Park Holidays UK faced questions from the residents last week after the former stated that they need to add ninety extra caravans at the Birxham holiday homes park.
The site is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Present during the meeting were fifty residents and councilors. Representing the company was Matt Purdon, the director of planning and Operations Director Danyl Fletcher.

The company has earmarked £2.5million for the park and part of the project is the upgrading of the existing 108 caravans and other facilities in the site.

Company officials said that it wouldn’t be financially and commercially viable to renovate the site without expanding it. They said that there’s a significant decrease in tourists over the years and expanding the plans would mean attracting the tourists back to the place.

Officials also stressed that there will be additional jobs for the locals with the planned expansion.

The decision will be made by the committee late next month.

US postal service gives tips on sending gifts during the holidays

It’s the time of the year where there’s massive flurry of activities at the U.S. postal offices as people start sending greeting cards, letters and packages during the holidays. The US Postal office has started giving tips in terms of effectively sending gifts during the holidays and to avoid mishaps.

The first tip is to make sure that proper addressing is made in order to ensure that the packages arrive at the right address. Make sure that the writing is legible so that the postman can easily deliver the items.

Second is to package the gifts properly to avoid breakage of the items inside. One of the most effective tips for this is to wrap items on bubble wrap, foam or newspaper. This ensures that the package won’t shift while on delivery.  Another great tip is to mark the package “fragile” so that the postman will take extra care on the item.

Holiday insurance can be bought online - report

There seems to be no more valid reason why you should not avail of a holiday insurance before you travel. According to reports, reasonably priced family holiday insurances can be bought online.

The common scenario for vacationers has always been forgetting to avail of family insurance before leaving home. This is a risky move because anything can happen during a holiday and having insurance could guarantee the needed financial assistance should anything untoward happens.

Insurance experts say that it is always the best option because no one wants a ruined vacation. There are instances that the body could not immediately adjust to the climate change (i.e. from a cold country to a tropical country) and the person, anyone in the family, could get sick. The insurance can cover the medical expenses.

Experts said that before buying a holiday insurance policy online, make sure that you are visiting a legitimate site.
